I was jisha and in the back seat of a car with Suzuki Roshi driving to Tassajara with Chino Sensei and someone else in the front seat. We stopped somewhere and I raved about the delights of a banana split, and everyone ordered them‑‑and enjoyed them a lot I thought. Later, on the winding road into Tassajara I became extremely sick and we had to stop to let me out. I sat by the side of the road feeling generally miserable. Suzuki Roshi came up to me, leaned over, and I thought was about to console me somehow. What he said with a big grin was, "Jane, would you like another banana split?" Sick as I was I couldn't help laughing with everyone else.

what's new this year

There's a lot of old material that's as good as new if you haven't read it. -DC
