MEMORIES OF SUZUKI Roshi FROM WIND BELL AND DC FILES

Letters on Suzuki Index - with more on these letters

Taiji Kiyokawa

Taiji Kiyokawa is a painter and artist who calligraphed the Wind Bell logo over twenty years ago. Recently he wrote to us: [Wind Bell note]

I have been pursuing the painting of formlessness, keeping in mind images of Suzuki Roshi. Please send my regards to everyone working for Zen Center.

DC note: There's a Taiji Kiyokawa that comes up on the Internet as a prominent Japanese abstract artist and sculptor (1919-2000). I would imagine it's the same person. I'll ask around. Here are links found.

Where he went to school: Keio University

Japan Times

There's a Setagaya Art Museum with a Taiji Kiyokawa Memorial Gallery but this link only shows a photo and how to get there.

And other links.

what's new this year

There's a lot of old material that's as good as new if you haven't read it. -DC
