Sangha News ----- Kobun Chino cuke link page
Venerable friends and students of Kobun Chino Otogawa Roshi, next year, on July 26th 2012, it will be 10 yrs. since Kobun and Maya passed on, entering parinirvana. For this occasion, we plan to hold a memorial sesshin at Jikoji, ending with a public celebration on Sunday, July 29th. A more detailed invitation will follow, but maybe you want to mark the date already in your calendar... Besides getting together to share company, sitting, eating, stories, and some videos, we would also like to publish a little book about Kobun, as a working title we could call it REMEMBERING KOBUN. This is A CALL FOR PAPERS What do you especially remember about Kobun? How did you see him living his life? How did he affect your life? Maybe you can share special memories you have about him. Depending on the amount of contributions that we will get, the book will be augmented by some lectures he gave, as well as some artwork and photos. If you have any of the latter that you think might be of interest for publication, please let us know and if possible, send a digitized copy. In order to have enough time to do a good job with editing and publishing, we set the deadline for submission: November 1st. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us. Alxe Noden from Hakubai Temple at Boulder generously agreed to function as the central person to gather and process the contributions and guide the process all the way through to publication. Her address: <("mailto:alxe@indra.com" )>We hope that a wide spectrum of responses will mirror at least some of the many facets and aspects that made up our dear teacher and friend. Thank you very much for joining in the effort. For the publishing team, Vanja Palmers |
